Yet your glad they recive achievments *alot of which are from magazines*
Christ thats a tad hypocritical.
Billy Joe has a horrible voice and instrumentally they're as good as the ramones.
Cept johnny ramone was way more passionate and joey has an amazing voice.
I'd hardly consider them a decent band.
They're not talented.
Im not to big on bands that dont have talent.

Now i hate these debates where people are always slagging off other bands but its good to see other peoples views on things

Green Day in my opinion are a good enough band - as i keep saying by no means special but decent
Now a lot of people used to feel the same way but feel they have sold out
i do feel this as they seem quite money grabbing but overall i like their music and i think that they deserve the praise they get
they have been around 16 years now a lot longer than many bands can say and have contributed many a good song - rock or pop whatever you want to call it
they have always been pop rock to me
my dear foolish naive scot.....i see that you're an optimistic newbie...when you've been on this board as long as i have you will see that there really is no point trying to rationalize you liking green day or these kids thinking they suck horribly......just give it up man....

But you got to give them their dues for what they've acheived even if you don't like them

Tre is acutally an okay drummer. I can play better than Billie but he must be given some credit. He can make some catchy riffs.

can i just say i don't class awards or anything to do with magazines as acheivements
when i say that i mean how many records they've sold and the fan base they have
i don't even know why i'm sticking up for them so much as i am not that bothered about them i just don't think they suck as much as you lot make out
i think i might take adidasss advice
i was just putting my view forward - oh well "sighs"

i've said it numerous times before, i don't have a problem if you don't like a band because you don't see anything special about their music, but i do have a problem when you say they suck because they're all mainstream or they think they're punk when they're not or that you're annoyed by their recent interest in politics....i just like the music, it makes me feel good when i listen to it...i just like it......i don't give a shit if they're punk or not or about anything else....i like the album.....and i think it's superior to dookie.....that is all.....

Dont turn around say stuff like "you think they suck because their mainstream"
I said why i think they suck.
Because they aren't talented musicians their lyrics aren't good.
Recent intest in politics? Thats a nice way of saying
"Lets jump on the anti bush wagon and sell some records!"
Seriously i highly doubt a pop act such as green day would pass up the the chance to make more money.
