I mean he knew how to get out of **** when he needed to. With his classic "please define 'the'" Not common sense, so i guess it'd be book smarts.

He knew when to get out? Osama Bin Laden and Hussein could have both been taken out during his Presidency but he dropped the ball multiple times. Maybe knowing "when to get out" was his biggest downfall.

the osama situation had too many "what ifs" and there was not unilateral support... that was smart on his hand. he did however develop tactical plans to invade afghanistan to capture osama, yet bush threw them out.

Too many "what ifs"? He was a known terrorist, he was known to plot against the US, they had already attacked the trade centers once. Give me a break. They had him on FOUR DIFFERENT times, and never even tried. He blew it.

Breathe. The what-if's had not to do with the fact that he is a terrorist.

PLEASE do us all a favor and research:

a TIME magazine I have (im typing this out)

Quote:
But the plan was twice flawed. First, the missiles could be used only if bin Laden's whereabouts were known, and the CIA never definitively delivered that information. By early 2000, Clinton was becoming infuriated by the lack of intelligence on bin Laden's movements. "We've got to do better than this," he scribbled on one memo. "This is unsatisfactory." Second, even if a target could ever be found, the missiles might take too long to hit it. The Pentagon thought it could dump a Tomahawk missile on bin Laden's camp within six hours of a decision to attack, but the experts in the White House thought that was impossibly long. Any missiles fired at Afghanistan would have to fly over Pakistan, and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) was close to the Taliban. White House aides were sure bin Laden would be tipped off as soon as the Pakistanis detected the missiles.

Berger and Clarke wanted something more robust. On Nov. 7, Berger met with William Cohen, then Secretary of Defense, in the Pentagon. The time had come, said Berger, for the Pentagon to rethink its approach to operations against bin Laden. "We've been hit many times, and we'll be hit again," Berger said. "Yet we have no option beyond cruise missiles." He wanted "boots on the ground"-U.S. special-ops forces deployed inside Afghanistan on a search-and-destroy mission targeting bin Laden. Cohen said he would look at the idea, but he and General Hugh Shelton, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were dead set against it. They feared a repeat of Desert One, the 1980 fiasco in which special-ops commandos crashed in Iran during an abortive mission to rescue American hostages.

In fact, despite strong suspicion that bin Laden was behind the attack in Yemen, the CIA and FBI had not officially concluded that he was, and would be unable to do so before Clinton left office. That made it politically impossible for Clinton to strike-especially given the upcoming election and his own lack of credibility on national security. "If we had done anything, say, two weeks before the election," says a former senior Clinton aide, "we'd be accused of helping Al Gore.

Is that the time that did an article about his "suspected terrorist actions" 2 months prior to 9-11. Now that i thgink of it i think it was newsweek. I got a newsweek saying how he planned to attack the US, but Bush didnt acknowledge the threats. It was very informative

No offense, but you people that claim the "biased" news of the US are the first people to go and quote an article if it's against Bush. So I read it, and found some interesting facts.

Military people, jackasses, military people, jackasses. It's a toss up. But I would have believed the people in the Pentagon.

Hmmmm....My point exactly. And the 9/11 report (yeah, the one that just came out) said they had Bin Laden on FOUR seperate occasions. That's two. You got some more searching to do.

Given the upcoming election he would have been criticized for doing it as a political move and not a genuine anti-terrorist move. And if they were to attack you at your house, but could only do so knowing where you are 6 hours prior, would it work? With most people, no, especially of people who are concerned for their life. Who actually stays in the same spot for 6 hrs? And like it said, the neighboring Pakistan would have informed them of the incoming missile. I LOVE how you only refer to the parts that could be twisted to what you believe in and take out all the substantial evidence against you!

The 9/11 report that just came out, as opposed to which one, the one that Bush did not have censored? Oh, ok.

You are a joke. There's another thread about Bush. Take it there. Get this one back on topic.
