Phantasmagoria!! Brilliant album.

Seriously, anyone listen to goth-era Damned? It's pretty decent.

It would have, but still, they would have deserved it. Any Damned-era was fine by me

This isn't one of the most talked about Damned tunes, but it's one of my favorites. Although it's from The Black Album, it's definitely on the punk side of things:

The Damned have a new, all covers album coming out next month. The album is a tribute to the late Brian James, and contains a live version of The Rollng Stones' "The Last Time" that Brian played on. More info:

I'm really looking forward to this. The Damned have a huge number of fine originals, but they usually do a great job on the tunes of others IMHO. This isn't the first time they've done an all covers LP. Their previous covers album was under the pseudonym Naz Nomad And The Nightmares and titled Give Daddy The Knife Cindy. It contained their version of "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night", which I saw them do a great live version of live.

I remember the band saying in interviews that since their version was half the length of The Beatles' original, they argued that they should only have to pay half the royalties. Needless to say, they didn't get away with that.

Here's a Christmas tune from The Damned. The title is from a Marx Brothers movie:
