" punks not dead "

has anyone hear seen it i havent but i'am kind of annoyed by it if you go to the tsol web sit you will see why ( its a link on the home page ) the movie is a documentery on punk bands and it had alot of poser bands (most were good )
but still it had green day, good charolet, and blink182 and theres probally more that werent listed

This thing is so inaccurate, punk is dead and these are the bands that killed it:
the ataris, good charlotte, green day, my chemical romance, the offspring, pennywise, rancid, simple plan, sum 41, thrice, the used, alkaline trio, yellowcard, and a few more. All of wich are on this and are classified as punk by the poseurs who made this. This is not a valid list of punk bands http://www.punksnotdeadthemovie.com/...ast_bands.html, do not buy this trash, its just another way for these bastards to make money off of this great and influential genre.

Punks not dead and hasn't been killed you idiot its a belief and a genre of music you cant kill that unless you wipe out every band that played punk in history.

Hellhound-138 11-11-2005 08:06 PM

I was wondering when youd show up to bitch at me

mosesandtherubberducky 11-11-2005 08:23 PM

Don't criticise me for what I am saying but Green Day, The Offspring, and Rancid to me anyways acted as a bridge to what punk really is. even if they are not punk their avalibility to the mass public has opened people's eyes to the genre. Some of those up there are just stupid though.

They did not kill it, they changed it. Everything changes - its part of life. Live with it:crazy:

Your perfectly right there most people i know who were into punk listen to blink 182 and good charlotte thought they were punk then started looking for more punk bands and they stumble upon the ramones and DK and such.

From that aspect its pefectly logical why the bands are there they're the gateway drug to punk and alot of people still consider them pop punk and probaly the person that made this video does.

Hellhound-138 11-11-2005 08:42 PM

mosesandtherubberducky they did open it up to the mass public and thats how they killed it. Thats how it became a fashion and acted as a bridge to let all these poseurs into it. Mainstream is the complete opposite of what punk is.

And edward, you are an idiot. Tell me how the Used or Sum 41 is punk at all.

mosesandtherubberducky 11-11-2005 08:44 PM

They did open it to the mass public but punk is like dipping your french fries in sweet and sour sauce, not everyone will like its sweet tangy-ness

Hellhound-138 11-11-2005 08:47 PM

wait. I was replying to you because you said it opened it up to mass public, why did you reply to me for something I said that you said?
