NoMeansNo, canadian hardcore band, done some compilations with the former lead singer of the dead kennedy's (Download "Jesus Was A Terrorist")

Who_Cares 06-03-2004 09:17 PM

lol why are punk bands so mean to God? Jesus Was A Terrorist lol

Eltiraaz 06-04-2004 02:09 PM

I dont look at it as being mean. If you look at what he did back then in a comparitive way to what he would be doing today if he was around. Jesus would have been the number 1 person your parents would tell you to stay away from. He was a radical.

what part of what he did would make my parents not want me to be around him? was it the part where he gave the blind man sight for the first time, or when he gave the mute man the chance to speak for the first time, or when he healed the dying man? just wondering why he would be called a terrorist, isnt that a bit radical? The guy who died on a cross and suffered for our sins, he suffered for something we didnt deserve is a terrorist?... i dunno that doesnt make much sense to me, maybe u could tell me why he is such a terrorist and why i wouldnt look up to him as a role model if i was alive during his lifetime

Who_Cares 06-05-2004 02:23 PM

The Jesus Was a Terrorist thing was just a song, i wasnt actually calling him a terrorist, just naming a song, but neways, lets stay on topic i didnt mean to start an argument lets talk about more :band: than religion ok ?

Fiend 06-06-2004 12:57 PM

On the topic of Jesus was a terrorist, by the Dead Kennedys, Jello made a point when he said..."Today bible-thumping cannibals
Reap money from his name
Buy cable networks & power
With old ladies' checks"
In a way, 'Jesus' started all of this. But I'm an Atheist so what do I know.
But on the topic of good music:::
Misfits (OLD-Danzig)
Social Distortion
Dead Kennedys
Hammers to Fences
The Last Hope
Unseen
Casualties
Undead
Refused
some Samhain and Danzig
Misfits (NEW:Graves)
Ten Foot Pole
i could go on and on...

Who_Cares 06-06-2004 11:00 PM

Those all sounded like old bands, are they?

anitnazileague 06-12-2004 02:17 PM

re: PuNk!

In my oppinion NOFX aren't really a punk band and are quite frankly ****e. You should be listening to real punk like the buzz****s, the clash and of course the pistols. I'm sick of this american load grunge ****e calling itself punk because its trying to be something that its not. :ar_15s:

Bartender 06-14-2004 10:48 AM

The Pogues are a very good Irish folk rock band, but they are often lumped into a punk category. Either If I Should Fall From Grace With God or Rum, Sodomy and the Lash would be their best album.

Conflict are an awesome, very political agit-punk band from England. Check out the album The Ungovernable Force.

Crispus Attucks aren't brilliant, but they're a decent hardcore punk band. Named after a black slave who was the first to be shot in a riot in the 1800s, so they're fairly political as well. Recommended album - Red Black Blood Attack.

punks-in-my-blood 06-14-2004 08:22 PM

british punk is not really 'Punk' in my opinion NOTHING is you cant really clasify music as 'punk' it is a lifestyle. i would say everything out now is a spin off, post hardcore, emo, scremo, and what people call 'punk' would be bands like NOFX and Anti Flag in MY opinion.

currently my favourite 'punk'/emo/ska bands are...

Thrice #1
Misfits # 2... you get the picture
Thursday
Anti Flag
Rise Against
NOFX
The Agency (local ska band that kicks ass!)

Thrice 06-14-2004 08:28 PM

awesome ass list dude!

punks-in-my-blood 06-14-2004 08:29 PM

p/s to awake and avenge the dead is a rad song :)

[source taags and codes, their latest album, is the one to listen to as many people find their earlier **** too complex or different to handle. but still, an awsome band.

oh ok, well I guess since you're obviously the musical god on the site, the rest of us lowly maggots shuld just succumb to your personal musical preferences or run the risk of being forever known as inferior beings in compared to your all-powerful musical genious.

news flash einstein, people like different music, I suggest that you change your tone, or you're gonna start pissing people off who have the power to ban you, you're already pissing me off.

aar0313 06-21-2004 07:23 PM

Im going to agree with Thrice on this one NOFX is deffinatly one of the most uprising Bands in the punk industry today. But also some bands like AFI,American HI-FI,Yellowcard,and The used. They are all also rising.
