But how fluent was the writer in MES-speak?

I wish Fall fans uploaded some lyrics videos to YT, it's unfair you need to open a whole new tab to listen with the lyrics. Of everything I listen to they're the one band where lyrics really matter

Besides Bend Sinister, Perverted by Language is my other favorite Fall album - just an incredibly solid and moody project.

You're probably already aware of it jadis, but just in case you're not, this is the best place for Fall lyrics:

Yeah it's a great website. I just think that if fans of every band under the sun upload plenty of lyrics videos to YT, then The Fall fans, the obsessive bunch that we are, should do better. No excuses.

I think the problem is that there's not a ton of Fall fans/obsessives (only 50,000 last I checked) - and most of them probably don't see the need since they're already using resources like that website.

Did you ever read the You Must Get Them All blog? The author went through each album/period exhaustively and it was a great read. He's recently compiled it all into a book that is gonna be shipping soon. It was always fun reading along as I listened to the albums - but with the amount of work he put into it, I don't mind paying him for it.

50,000 obsessives is a lot, no? The two Fall fans I know irl are hardcore completists

No, looks like a great blog

Do you know the Oh Brother podcast? My friend keeps sending me links to their eps and some are good though the audio quality and accents take some getting used to

Turns out this guy has also a great podcast about The Fall where he mostly just plays the music, too bad it's only on mixcloud where you can't skip back or forward without getting a premium but it's still great. I picked the 5th ep at random and he started by playing Beefheart and Stooges and then played a bunch of amazing Fall rarities.

Another podcast ep I really enjoyed recently was this, a side project of the Chapo producer, just great banter about The Fall. The two hosts don't know all that much but Will's enthusiasm is contagious.

I know what you mean but... one of my best friends who I'm currently across the ocean from shares a bunch of Fall content with me and I started listening to some of it mainly to chat to him about it (cause otherwise we don't have a lot in common these days, he's got kids etc). And some of it is just nice to listen to.
