I have an american series fender jazz bass and i used to own an ibanez... i was just looking for an opinion on the tone of fender jazzes for punk music, or should i go with a fender precision.. and what are your thoughts on ampegs? feel free to suggest another brand besides fender,by the way. :

Ok, I'm going to pretend that this thread is about the best Punk bassist and then I'll ask "Do Joy Division count?" and you'll say "Well, their albums are closer to Post-Punk, but their earlier stuff as Warsaw is definitely Punk." and then I'll say "Well in that case, Peter Hook."

Notice post punk has the word punk in it, hence Joy Division is a punk band. I do agree somewhat with the choice though, he is a good bassist. Mike Watt is better however.

And I'd agree.

Although JJ Burnell of 'The Stranglers' takes some beating.
