On August 10th Rise Against (my favorite band if you can't tell) will release their third full length cd, Siren Call Of The Counter Culture. You can listen to the whole thing at the entire cd was posted on Purevolume yesterday but was taken down. According to the site it will be up again Sunday so go check it out Sunday!

I really enjoy Rise Against. All of their cds are really great. The new one is really catchy. I admire their involvement in animal rights, and their video for "give it all" reflects their efforts towards animal cruelty, as well as various other things they believe in. They put on really great live shows too =)

So I know the user will call me a poser or some crap but I heard Rise Against's "Swing Life Away" and you know what, its not bad, its got some folkie power behind it, but people who attricbute themselves to a style that doesn't require a good voice should hang out on emo-centric notes they can't hit in the first place. Im refering to the part where he goes "I won't cross this street until you hold my haaaaaaaaand"

To me he's trying to come off as sentimental forelorn sap, and it doesn't work if your gunna try that stuff.

I don't know what came into you're head posting a thread on Rise Against here but im not complaining. RPM is definately the best Rise Against album. On their most recent album Siren Song of the Counter Culture of which Swing Life Away is on they went for a even more poppier sounds still good but not as good as their first two albums.

ihavent heard dat song buuuuuuuuttt..i heard theis song 'like the angels' on thug (ps2)..they're cool and your rite i dont tink ya need a goo d voice to make good music....most people in the pop industry cant sing for **** anyway...so it dont matter and never has...

Yeah no, Bob Dylan can't sing for ass. He still deserves everything he has.

Thats because Bob Dylan is one of the best songwriters of all time he can get away with having an "average" voice. Anyway Tim has a great voice for the genre, I quite enjoy his voice.

The song is really good although sounds far too...overproduced. 3rd or 4th best on the album

This belongs in the punk forum, and Siren Song didn't came out too long ago bands don't come out with several albums a year.

I haven't listened to their new album, I guess I'll download it. I haven't listened to Rise Against for years though but we'll see.

I like the new album, but i dont see it as really progressing from their older album. Its not worse than the old one, but its not really any better.

That's only after one listen though, it could grow on me.

Hell yes I am buying it! I heard the new single, "Ready To Fall", on Love Line a while ago and it's an awesome song. The rest of the album can only be just as great.

I'll download some of it off of iTunes.
