i agree with you and I want to add something else. Blink 182 is a ****ing joke along with other bands like greenday. First they start off as not wanting to be popular and just doing it for the music ( greenday) then they sign to a huge label and appear all over mtv for the popularity. Blink is a terrible band who writes riffs that 8 year olds learn when they first get a guitar or bass. Then everyone is like omg omg travis is an amzing drummer omg **** travis have you seen his drumset ? who couldn't be good on that small piece of ****, i have bigger pots and pans than his drumset. why is blink in the metalrock forum ? they're a poppunk band.

Wow u guys actually think they suck that much? I grew up with them in 5/6/7th grade. They were a great band for the pop oriented culture. Didn't know there were so many elitists here...

I don't really appreciate that kind of mentality. It's odd how people will disregard an entire genre of music, especially pop, considering pop is a very generic and loosely defined genre. Most of the bands mentioned in this rock forum incorporate pop into their music, and are just as "pop" as some of the bubblegum artists everyone supposedly despises. They play the same venues, have same managers, make the same kinda money, played on the same media outlets, receive the same exposure, and mostly play to the same audiences. And all of them are payed excessively, when compared to bands that actually are out there, with the same or more amount of talent, playing sh*tty gigs just to get a meal.

i think the majority of people in here dont like artists who get rich and famous without any hard work. they don't write their own songs and theyre slingshotted into stardom. for me, i think most of those artists come from pop but i can see that im judging the genre unfairly based on personal bias.
