Default most influential band to you

throughout my years listening to punk and emo there have been a lot of bands that i have really gotten a lot of inspiration from. some are

ampre
circle takes the square
orchid
you and i
welcome the plague year

and i have been listening to ruhaeda almost religiously lately. sometimes i feel like these lyrics are a story of my life too. maybe you've had the same experience.

Awesome listt, add Saetia/Hot Cross, Cap'n Jazz, Trophy Scars (pre-alphabets), Thursday, Million Dead, Bloody Brothers, Fall Of Troy, Converge and mines the same. Well roughly, maybe Ampere, You & I, and Welcome The Plague year would be lower then some other bands.

The Minutemen are such a big inspiration and influence to me. So intelligent, unique, passionate, fun, diverse, honest, talented and...yeah you get the picture. They did what they wanted, and in those days the idea that a bunch of untrained, working-class kids could pick up instruments and make such great and interesting music was practically unheard of. That's something which has inspired so many people, myself included.

Other bands that've inspired/influenced:

Black Flag
Dead Kennedys
Jawbreaker

and lately Sonic Youth.

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

Flogging Molly influenced me to return to acoustic instruments.
