I like the rest of those bands (esp Swell Maps, This Heat and the Pop Group), with the exception of Whitehouse and Devo. Devo always annoyed me, but I haven't listened to them for about 2 years and a lot has changed in that time. I'll give them another go. Whitehouse were just plain irritating to me. It's power electronics though, I hear that's the point. I have heard Allegory & Self by Psychic TV and I like it a lot, but that's a pretty upbeat album to my ears! I hear their earlier albums are much darker and weirder though. lots of suggestions guys, thanks a lot. I'm listening to a Skinny Puppy album just now, and it was pretty great. |
Allegory & Self still has plenty of dark tracks, Southern Comfort for instance.

Glenn Branca.

I have The Ascension and Symphony No. 1 by Branca, and both of them are fantastic. Marginally prefer Symphony 1, but it's all good stuff.
Jackhammer and Stu, those are all new names to me..cheers guys. do any of you use soulseek? I can't find ANYTHING by any of the bandz I've searched for thus far. nothing by Gomm, no Section 25, no Angelic Process, no NWW. The sharing threads have disappeared since I last came to this forum, and it seems uploading is now no longer permitted. Understandable given Oink and whatnot, but it sux. |
