Fast Poppy 90s socal bands.

This thread makes me sick, what the hell is Skatepunk?

Those are all just good bands.

Alfred 08-24-2009 07:00 PM

Yep, Lagwagon is still the best.

FaSho 08-24-2009 07:05 PM

I was listening to a couple Pennywise songs the other day, and remembered how good these bands are. Some of the most fun music to listen to.

Dano 08-24-2009 07:17 PM

High intensity energetic music is where its at.

But Skatepunk has to be the most rudimentary sub-label ive ever heard.

NOFX rocks, Lagwagon rules too. Wheres the LEftover Crack

Psh you insult me. I may be much younger than you but I prefer these bands to anyone on that list. Strung Out isn't bad though.

And good call Dano, Leftover Crack and Choking Victim and that family of bands is amazing. Choking Victim is my favorite music to skate to, though I don't know that these bands would be skate punk... They're ska punk.

caswell 09-20-2009 01:12 PM

between pennywise / nofx

BTown 09-24-2009 02:26 PM

NOFX is downright awful in my opinion. I can't stand the vocals.
I'm surprised they haven't been many suicide machines mentions, although they could also be called ska-punk I guess.

million dollar basher 09-24-2009 02:28 PM

Yeah, NOFX isn't really skate punk. Check out Agent Orange's "Living in Darkness". Doesn't get much better than that.

SATCHMO 09-24-2009 02:32 PM

Best skate rock album ever FTW:

^ I like Milo Goes To College a lot more.

No question. JFA is the best skatepunk band. Every other skatepunk band has simply walked the trail they blazed.

DetroitMike 09-29-2009 10:32 AM

I'm sorry to see Minutmen, or the Descendents aren't on this list of options...who's coming up with this stuff!

tgpo 09-29-2009 11:15 AM

How do Minutemen fit into skatepunk?

yeah, JFA I see it...of course, being that my wife dated the drummer back in the day...we're a little biased over here.

DetroitMike 09-29-2009 11:40 AM

are you kidding? They were great to skate to...my idea of skatepunk, is of course music great to skate to, a perfect example of Minutemen and skating is here...check this out;

SATCHMO 09-29-2009 11:54 AM

From the same Santa Cruz video, Natas Kaupas Tearing it up even harder to Firehose the band that formed in the wake of Minutemen's guitarist D. Boon's death
