That's true. I should really stop worrying about the genre labelling. I get offended when bands I like get labelled with a name that did not exist when I first got into them. In my lifetime it happened with at least 3 new genres: Emo, Grunge, and Post-Rock. But it's a pretty dumb thing to worry about. Like you say, many innovative bands eventually got a new classification and/or sub-classification.

I'm still pissed that, having been a fan of Fugazi for about 17 years now, never caught a live show.
I'm pissed that I didn't appreciate Fugazi more when I saw them. I usually spent most of my time trying to keep myself from being squeezed to death by sweaty moshers and just wanting to leave. The outdoor show I saw was best 'cuz you could spread out - but then you were far away from the stage. The Sacred Heart basement was a horrible space.

I was lukewarm on it to begin with, but now it's one of my favorites.

It was the first one I heard. I dig it.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Fugazi never made a bad album - let alone awful.

The Argument is my favourite, followed by 13 Songs, and i have a strange/obsessive love for I'm So Tired. Very good band.

I love 13 Songs. How do you pronounce their name?

I'm So Tired is such a brilliant song. Did you ever see the Instrument documentary?

Fugazi is fugazi, no real way to classify them, any attempt would be pretty incorrect.
