sing the sorrow was truly excellent...in fact second only behind black sails imo. i've never been one to get upset at a band changing their sound...i don't understand why people fear change. sure it wasn't your typical hardcore punk sound as most die hards had expected, but once the initial shock of the sound being different was over, how could anyone not like it? that and butch vig is one of my favorite producers of all time. i think the idiot fans that got pissed at the change is what provoked decemberunderground, a lame attempt at appeasing both sides of the arguement.

haven't really listened to anything since du

I want to hear the newest album. I like all of the previous ones. especially All Hallow's EP, Sing the Sorrow and The Art of Drowning.

AFI- New album Crash Love

4/5

This album is a solid evolution for a band that continues to bring it's fans unique, emotional and awe-inspiring music and lyrics. Taking on more of a '4 guys playing in a garage' approach, Crash Love gets back to AFI's rock roots, a huge departure from the electronic-heavy Decemberunderground (2006) and more akin to 2003's incredible album Sing the Sorrow. With a collection of B-Sides just as good, if not better than the songs on the album, its worth buying the expanded edition of the album AND the iTunes delux edition (2 aditional songs not found on the album expanded edtion). Amazing album. Check it out!

--just a re-post i did in the album review forum. posted it here to see what you guys thought. Personally, I think Sing the Sorrw was the apex of their carreer, with the Art of Drowning following closely behind. What are your opinions on AFI in general, and their new album?
