The Buzz****s
The Descendants
The Stranglers are all great punk bands too.

The Ramones of course. The Clash, Black Flag, Exploited.

If you're new to punk, a really good compilation to download is Rhino's, "No Thanks! The 70's Punk Rebellion". Its about 100 songs, and every single one is amazing. On top of that some good albums are:

Wire- "Pink Flag"
Richard Hell- "Blank Generation"
The Modern Lovers- "The Modern Lovers"
Television- "Marquee Moon"
Velvet Underground- "White Light/White Heat"
Iggy & The Stooges- "Raw Power"
The Germs- "GI"
The Buzz****s- "Singles Going Steady"

And while we're talking about them, let's not forget to mention Rocket from the Crypt!

Also, I don't think anyone in this thread has mentioned:

Subhumans
Fear
Seven Seconds
Reagan Youth
Generation X (who never make these kinds of lists because people either (a) think they're a one hit wonder or (b) don't realize who they are)

I like all of those bands. Add Broken Bones into that mix too.

Only heard the first two. I'll check out the others whenever I can.

Thanks
