Oh. What's your favorite song(s)?

I saw a vid of Ambrosia online and it was like spot on.

So then what are the bands of the genre that you really like?

If you're talking about my favorite songs by alesana then pretty much everything off their first album, their second is iffy to me.

I like alexisonfire, all that remains, atreyu (prior to lead sails papor anchor), august burns red, avenged sevenfold (prior to city of evil), The Bled, Blood Brothers, Bring me the horizon, A change of pace, Chiodos is alright, A day to remember (guilty pleasure), Enter shikari, Every time i die, From autumn to ashes, He is legend, etc. etc. etc.

What's funny is that these bands sound nothing alike. The only similarities are that they have screaming and they're influenced by hardcore.

Very much so, i feel like a 14 year old girl every time they come across my itunes

And i thought he was making a reference to what kind of "scene" music i enjoy, and as far as im concerned all of those listed could be considered "scene"

Alex I know some songs, decent.
ATR is amazing, I love their last two albums.
Atreyu I haven't really gotten into them.
ABR is awesome.
A7X I like all of the singing ones lol.
BMTH I totally love, you're the only person I've ever sound that likes them lol.
Chiodos is also really good.
ADTR I also really love, I hate the people at my school who like them cause they are pop-punk and think the screaming sucks, but w/e, their breakdowns are insane.

You have to be kidding me. It's a common misconception that Alexisonfire is a "scene" band, just because they scream and have pretty vocals and are on warped in 09. They don't dress like a scene band, they generally don't associate with scene bands, and if you compared them to other scene bands, they also don't sound like one. Same goes for the Blood Brothers. If the Blood Brothers are scene then I guess At The Drive-In is too. Everytime I Die could be argued for because of the bands they associate with and a few elements in some of their songs do reek of hottopiccore, but musically they're as hardcore punk as anything. I've heard The Bled's first EP and it's in no way comparable to those other metalcore bands because it doesn't use the whiny choruses and it actually sounds like metalcore is supposed to. I don't know what they sound like now though.

Also, have you heard He Is Legend's last album?

yeah thats my bad, i didn't mean to include alexisonfire with the scene bands, just included them because they sound similar and it would give something for Thiswarisours to compare other stuff to.

Oh and fyi to Thiswarisours its said Alexis-on-fire

And no, I haven't heard He is Legend's latest album, i guess i should get on that. Is it any good?

It's no biggie if you thought Alexisonfire was scene. I will admit, "Crisis" kinda sounded that way with the more melodic, polished sound, but their first two albums are fine hardcore releases.

On He Is Legend: I'm not really sure what my opinion is on their latest album. It's definitely a departure from those pretty vocals and crisp guitars that we heard earlier. It's a muddier, more southern metal-ish sound. It's okay, but the lyrics are awful, even for He Is Legend. Some gems on the album though. I'd give it a spin.
