Sure, if you want to say Black Flag, Minor Threat etc are the beginning of Hardcore I guess I'd back that. But in my opinion that's just punk and real hardcore started with bands like Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Madball etc The one thing I love about hardcore is that it rarely changes and never dies. With the exception of some of the bands that have "evolved" into metalcore such as Hatebreed.

The new hardcore bands that are coming out are amazing and they're not only keeping it alive but making it bigger.

Check out these newer hardcore bands: Trapped Under Ice, Reign Supreme, Bad Seed, Brace War, Incendiary, Born Low, Back Track msg me for more new or old
Gotta love the NYC bias coming from you. Sorry dude Black Flag etc are Hardcore Punk. Also Agnostic Front and Madball are complete trash.

The thing is real hardcore is just fast,intense punk rock.
All those rapping metal bands pretending to be hardcore has just ruined it.

I think it's a collection of covers of punk rock songs by Slayer, who are a metal band. Wrong thread entirely.
