Default Real hardcore?

Does anyone remember back in the days, when there was minor threat, bad brains, etc to take the name of hardcore. Oh the people who ****ed that label up. How dare them. D=<

I would never have called any of those bands hardcore. And yes I WAS around when that whole scene went down.

really? that's what we called it back in the days. We called it hardcore, because bands like minor threat and battalion of saints sounded a lot different from lets say dead kennedys and black flag. But yes, nowdays all of that is called old school punk. hmm whatever floats your boat.

At that time hardcore was Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, DOA, Youth Brigade, Slapshot to name a few. Maybe were both right. If you're talking the 80's then yeah, but really at that time there really wasn't much to differentiate those bands from straightforward punk. I don't really see true hardcore coming into effect until the late 80's early 90's.
