No, no, no. "Alternative" is not a genre. "Indie" is not exactly a genre either, something can't be solely "indie." Indie stands for independent. Yeah, I do call stuff indie (genre), because indie has become more than just meaning "independent," but it's still not a genre. I guess it's like psychedelic, it's more like an action.

Sonic Youth is art rock / experimental punk.

I'd say Sonic Youth. At least they didn't almost bore me to sleep.

I was totally surprised when no one gave a **** either. Really only 12 year old Jonas Brothers fans flame when someone doesn't like their favorite band. Isn't this forum AWESOME?
