FYI: Sid Vicious was a no talent ass clown that was selected as the Pistols bass player by their manager merely because of his image alone. He could barely play the bass and is one of the most overrated musical figures ever. Most of his guitar parts in the later recordings were actually played by Jones and Matlock.

Not to mention his vocals

to all those who say that Sid had no talent is wrong, he was a shock artist, that was his talent, giving the crowd something that they had never experienced before. and we all have to stop and think about the comments that you guys are making, that they can't play music, hen they are not real punk I guess? Well, that is a understatement to punk in itself. Let's all remember, that punk is not a sound or measured in talent...it is a feeling..a way of life..freedom of expression, and who better to do that than the late great Sid Vicious...??? **** you guys, Anarchy in the uk!

my first born was named after sid also, (Sydni to be exact, sounded more feminin to me)

And ya, i agree, sid vicious had his own talents and any band nowdays would kill for any of their members to have that amount of stage presence. Alot of punk bands sound like crap, it never was about making perfect sounding music to begin with.

i never said "they" didnt have talent, I said sid Vicious didn't. He doesn't deserve the amount of credit you are giving him, in comparison to Johnny Rotten, who had more of a musical sense than Vicious did by a landslide. Forgive me for judging music based on talent and sounds, next time I'll look at superficial factors like image and lifestyle.

johnny rotten is probably the only guy on this planet that i cant stand more than henry rollins and glenn danzig..what a fukhead.

I'm on their side, I think sid was overrated. I don't want to tell anyone they were wrong in naming their kid after him or anything, cause it's not. I mean it's your kid. I can understand that Sid is such a legend for reasons other than just his bass playing, I'm just not a big fan of him.

In terms of being classified as "musical icons", yes, I think they are quite overrated (although I do not have any problem with Johnny Rotten's status), particularly Henry Rollins. I do not however know any of them on a personal level, so I won't go as far as saying, "i can't stand them" or calling them "fukheads." BTW, thanks for the Danzig-knocked-the-fuk-out video clip a while back- that was classic
