Maybe it comes down to how much you enjoy listening to Lydon winge on about every little thing. As much as I like the Pistols, his voice can get pretty grating after awhile. At least with PiL, he would try to get a little weird with it once in awhile. Better yet, he often just shut up and let the music speak for itself and when he was still playing with Wobble and or Keith, that music was very interesting indeed. It's a blast to put on a Pistols album once in awhile but as a field for active listening, I think those first three PiL records win the day.

the beauty of Lydon is that it is annoying and grating

it functions like an atonal discordant instrument all by itself

I've only heard one song by Sex Pistols, and that is Anarchy In The U.K., and I have to say that it is a pretty good song. On GH3, I also saw the video about the Sex Pistols. I've never heard Public Image Limited. Is it a band worth downloading to listen to?

1.Get this

2. Have your mind blown

3. Don't complain it's not a 'Punk' album.

Which is why you should concentrate on Glen Matlock (their original bassist who wrote most of their material), and not Sid Vicious, who was just a useless clown.

Yeah, he blinded a girl (or at least took out one of her eyes) by throwing a bottle at a band at some show, which shattered and...well you know. Who does that?
