I admit it's a good record with some catchy tunes. But, how could you have that and not any Ramones on your list? At best, they are a quality Ramones copy cat. Plus, I hold a grudge against Ben Weasel for being all into and believing and practicing, it just sickens me to say the word, Catholicism . I used to read his collumn in MRR and now this? Was he into this religious garbage back when he was making this music - and like hasn't the band toured recently-

Makes me wanna puke, seriously. All over his Bible.

Out of personal opinion:

1. Acid Eaters by the Ramones

2. Everything Sucks by the Descendents

3. Adolescents (Self-Titled) by The Adolescents

4. 13 Songs by Fugazi

5. Nevermind the Bollocks by The Sex Pistols

6.Television City Dream by Screeching Weasel (I love it!)

7. Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing by Discharge

8. Not Richard, But **** by The Dead Milkmen

9. The Shape of Punk to Come by Refused

10. Punk in Drublic by NOFX

I disagree, I'd place Screeching Weasel miles above The Ramones. Screeching Weasel are just a bit of fun, with a great talent for writing hooks. As for The Ramones, they're alright but way overstayed their welcome, redoing the same songs for what? 30 years? I also get annoyed when people laud The Ramones as these great visionaries that saved music. They don't deserve half the love they get.

Give Screeching Weasel a 30 year career and see what happens.
I wouldn't say that the Ramones 'saved music' or anything but I do like them a hell of a lot more than I like Screeching Weasel.

I wouldn't want Screeching Weasel to have a 30 year long career. Working for 30 years doesn't often work for many bands, nevermind Pop-Punk bands who don't have a lot to offer in the first place.

I agree. And I wish the Ramones didn't have a 30 year career either. Btw, I don't even really like Screeching Weasel at all so I'll just bow out now.

I like Screeching Weasel but having them in your top 10 punk albums is pretty bad.

Here's mine(I think)(no particular order)(not counting Post-Punk, because it'd be too hard)
The Germs-(GI)
The Clash-London Calling
Dead Kennedys-Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Wipers-Youth Of America
Stiff Little Fingers-Inflammable Material
Crass-Feeding Of The 5000
Subhumans-The Day The Country Died
Husker Du-Zen Arcade
Rudimentary Peni-Death Church
Refused-The Shape Of Punk To Come

I guess. I wouldn't have managed this if I hadn't tried to be a genre nazi and dismissed Television and The Pogues as non-Punk.

it is a good album.....and in no way do i hold Screeching Weasel to any measure with Ramones....it's just that i would choose Boogada over any of their records....sorry it just speaks more directly and i listen to it quite a bit more than i do any of the Ramones albums....actually to be honest i can't think of the last time i actually just put on a Ramones album and listened to it...i mean i love to hear them...and sing along and enjoy everything they ever did....i just never really listen to them

to be honest as far as Screeching Weasel goes i personally can't stand anything after Anthems For A New Tomorrow.....by that point i just feel the fun and silliness of the band was shadowed by the continuous Ramones rip offs

i honestly don't understand why a persons religion would affect whether or not you like their music....quite a few of the bands i love are devote Catholics.....some sing about it some don't....i never really noticed anything about religion in Screeching Weasels lyrics...but again i really have not listened to anything past the mid 90s....

Why should a band's religion matter, anyways? The only time it should matter is when they are shoving it down your throat on every album they've ever made. Screeching Weasel doesn't do that.

Personally, I think someone who holds a grudge against someone for having a religious persuasion, and for only that, is childish.

Ben's Catholicism doesn't interfere with the music his band makes. So I don't see how it is at all relevant.
