Default X-Ray Spex

Anyone else a fan of X-Ray Spex? Punk with a saxophone just works for them somehow, I can't explain it.

Love 'Oh Bondage! Up Yours', never got round to the LP (think they did just the 1?), should do at some point.

They released a 2nd LP, Conscious Consumer, in 1995. From what I understand, it sucked.

I've had the bonus tacks re-release of Germ Free Adolescents for ages but I have to admit "Oh Bondage Up Yours!" is the only song I've ever really gotten into. Maybe I should give it another chance.

It's a shame that Oh Bondage basically overshadows everything because there's some great stuff on their album.

I have the expanded reissue of their first album on CD somewhere, but I've long since lost it. Shame really, it was a pretty fine album - I used to listen to it religiously when I was a teenager and basically first getting into vintage punk rock beyond the Pistols and the Clash's debut. From what I remember, Identity, I Am a Poser, Highly Inflammable and Germ Free Adolescents were my favourites.

I picked up their anthology from amazon for $11. 52 tracks, including Peel sessions. Not a bad deal.
