This probably doesn't qualify as pure punk. Maybe more sleaze/punk.

Please reccomend me a recent or new punk album album that's not bland/generic. Either everything I'm looking for on the internet is ****, or none of it fits the mood I'm in. It seems like I'm not in the mood for most music in general at the moment, actually. It's like I don't know what to listen to and nothing satisfies me, but I do want to listen to something.

Still didn't do it for me, sorry :c. Thanks for trying.

I want to have that feeling of when I discovered Dicks, Big Boys and Really Red again. Those are some very underrated 80's punk rock bands that had something unique in their sound. I was hoping to maybe find a band that gives me that feeling again, but in modern punk. Sadly it hasn't happened. Maybe when I'm in the mood again.

Probably has to do with the fact that at the moment we have to find it ourselves. With old music, other people have already found most of the things that stood out, aside from a few underrated, hidden gems.

I've been craving some quality post-hardcore but feel a little jaded on the classics. I really love the late 80s/90s Dischord sound but need something a little updated for lack of a better word. Anyone have suggestions?

I would say the peak of Post-hardcore is 1998-2001

Just some essentials in case you have not heard of them before

(1998) Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
(2000) At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command
(2001) Fugazi - The Argument
(2001) Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You

Some of the more modern stuff

(2011) La Dispute - Wildlife
(2012) Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory (has some indie rock and grunge influence)
(2013) Touché Amoré - Is Survived By

I would also recommend Refused and Fugazi. La Dispute's Wildlife is their best album, in my opinion. Great stuff.
