Default Flipper

I tried searching and couldnt find any existing threads for this band. They are one of the more original bands to come out of the 80's hardcore scene. At a time when most punk bands were playing as fast as possible Flipper kept the same amount of aggresion with slowed down bass driven songs. Lyrics are also great.

I've always meant to explore their music more but I only know bits and pieces

The video for Sacrifice is hauntingly awesome

Flipper is great, one of the first punk bands i listened to and got into. whenever i was first getting into80s hardcore i would keep "Ha Ha Ha" on repeat for hours.

To bad their reform was a joke, not really sure what happened.

I'm in the exact same boat. They always seemed good though.

Flipper is by far one of the greatest bands to come from the bay area.....and in so many ways completely transgressed conventional punk and hardcore.....honestly i think Flipper started noise and art rock

I love Flipper. I'll need to dig out their records, I haven't heard them in quite a while. When I first heard them I thought they'd sound like early Black Flag, oh boy was I surprised haha

you should all check out No Trend too, very similar to Flipper and absolutely excellent.

Yeah that was truly a sad attempt.

Drat! I visited the thread half-hoping it was about the dolphin! But since I'm here, I looked up some more Flipper songs to form an impression.

It does sound like their music gives punk fans what they want, although "The Way of The World" made me laugh...I suppose it is all the screaming of the lyrics in that song. Here's what some people said about Flipper on Youtube:

Flipper fans say:

flipper is one of the sickest bands that ive ever heard, never heard this song before but so far its sloppy, filthy and all discombobulating= amazing

i gotta say their music formed who i am today. sloppy dirty confused pissed off and ****ed up
Flipper - The Way of the World. I like that the lead singer is wearing ear plugs! This is the song that makes me chuckle.

Flipper - Get Away
