Default Pop Punk

Pop punk is probably my fav punk sub genre, and I dont mean all this radio friendly MTV crap, but more like The Ramones, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, MTX, The Ergs, Riverdales, Jawbreaker, Squirtgun, Teen Idols, Limp, Off With Their Heads, Etc. Anyone else into this stuff at all?

I have a single Screeching Weasel and Jawbreaker album that are pretty good and I'd probably throw The Dead Milkmen in this category too.

But I also enjoy early Green Day, Offspring, Lagwagon, and blink so stone me now.

Oh, and Alkaline Trio has the most plays on my last.fm so I like them too...

Great bands mentioned in this thread. My favorites are Lagwagon, Teenage Bottlerocket and Screeching Weasel. The Lillingtons, Dillinger Four, Jawbreaker, and The Queers are all awesome too.

Much of that has a lot of good quirky songwriting to it. Right now there's a pop-punk/pop-rock explosion with bands like All Time Low that lack the melody talent and balls of the older acts, if you liked that.... then you'd have a right to feel ashamed.

Early Greenday is classic.

I got two D4 albums but never really got into them. I don't see the big deal with them. Descendents should definitely be one of the first bands to be mentioned though.
