there's a pretty decent scene in my town, but I'm not in any way a part of it. it's cool though, everywhere I go, I expect to see the same people, and most of em are all nice. Some are really cynical and don't like anyone that doesnt look like them. There's this one bitch that wont even talk to me cause I dont wear punk gear, it's f*cking lame. The little teeny punks really piss me off, they travel in packs, being rude and racist. I swear, kids get worse and worse. But overall it's cool, cause most of the punks I know listen to all kinds of different music; my close friends listen to tons of gangsta rap, it's tight. Sounds odd, but it's fun.

My local scene consists of getting drunk & trying to ignore the bad blues rock band/thrash metal band/nirvana clone playing in the corner

My local scene is pretty alright since I live near Detroit I get to see a whole bunch of shows and whatnot played by local bands and whatnot. Even the preps here mosh and get drunk, well a couple anyway. But it's pretty cool because I was in a different part of Detroit going to a local show (the entour or something) and I passed by Hotel Yorba. It blew my mind.

yea oyr town has a great scene, there's a lot of metal , but now we're getting more indie, emo and even some good punk bands again! everyone is really commited, and there is a lot of dedication and a whole lot of talent. 814 Represent \m/

Ive been playing in the Phoenix scene for 12 years now (sounds about right anyways) and ive seen it go through ups and downs. For a long time their was alot of awesome local bands and alot of really cool clubs to play. They slowly started disappearing and for a few years it was almost completely gone. There were still bands touring through and playing, and you could still find punks hanging out at the usuall spots on Mill Avenue but the feel of it changed completley. Its slowly getting better, there are alot of DIY venues popping up and some good bands reforming or being started from members of past bands. It still isnt anything like the feel of the old days, but its getting better thanks to alot of the bands supporting each other instead of stabbing each other in the back trying to be the next "Jimmy Eat World" out of AZ.
