Tis a great album. A bit of a throw back sound, it is the type of album that could of been released in 1980-1984 and it would fit right in. Keith Morris is great.

One of my favorites of the last few years as well.

yeah it basically sounbds like the early black flag when he was still the front man....which is beyond "wonderful"

i'm really enjoying this band from Sweden called "Misantropic"....amazing female fronted d-beat

i picked up their debut album....and the only thing i hate about it is the fact that its only 17 minutes long....this reminds me of why i got into this shit in the first place....i need to see these kids live

So much this. F*cked Up are, in my opinion, the all-around best modern punk band. OFF! are a really fun band too.

i think i'm gonna have to give F*cked Up another chance.....i looked into them a couple years ago but was just not into it at the time

BastardofYoung 07-09-2011 05:38 PM

yeah, earlier stuff was more punk, their last few albums have show them to be a band always trying to evolve and try new things. Deranged Records has some great bands that show that punk is still good... F*cked Up, Brutal Knights, Career Suicide.. just a few great punk bands on their roster.

To say that The Offspring is better than any of them is just laughable. Still great punk rock out there, just have to dig deep to find it, won't find it if you are looking at at what is popular in the mainstream.

Even in the 90's, The Offspring were nothing all that special, better bands out there at the time.

Yeah, I loved Keith Morris in Black Flag, as I have said, Rollins is my favorite as a front man, but my least favorite as a vocalist. Morris and Reyes were both better vocalists, but not as intense of a front man as Rollins.

OFF! also has members from Rockets From the Crypt and Red Kross.

I will check out the band you posted here in a bit. I am not to familiar with most d-beat.

bob. 07-09-2011 05:48 PM

yeah the drummer for OFF! seems to have been in basically every good band to have ever come out of San Diego....including RFTC, Hot Snakes, and even Black Heart Procession for a little bit....their (OFF!) new seven inch released on Southern Lord is excellent

i'll look into their(F*cked Up) earlier stuff....the album i picked is their first release on Jade Tree

BastardofYoung 07-09-2011 06:05 PM

for a good intro to those days of F*cked Up. Just get this comp.
Epics in Minutes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

they have so many 7"s it is insane. This is a good overview of some of them though.

Why does this argument crop up all the time when it was already decided years ago?

This is rather spendlid too:
