Now this is more what I'd expect.

I just don't feel like shoving people out of my way and ruining the show for them.
You have never been to a gig? (concert sounds far too trite!). You are seriously missing out. Some of my most liked bands have came out and sounded awful live whilst others have blown me away and made me become a a fan.

Live music is the DNA for all music as far as I'm concerned. It is like looking at a mountain from afar and admiring it but it is only until you scale it's heights that you can truly appreciate it's nature whether pleasurable or not.

Heh. "Gig" always sounds to me like something that should involve shaggy hair and classic rock.

For me, the term also kind of implies that the band is really just after money. I prefer to call it a show.

A band that included a friend of mine played a show/concert in a small place with a stage once. They were kids and refused to play on the stage because of the punk ethics, etc.
It was a great show. The bassist swung his bass around the whole time to make space (move back or get hit) and the vocalist's mic went out but we could still hear him.
This was one of my most memorable shows.
I'm glad the arrogant little bastards refused the stage.

Playing the floor is where it's at.
