To be honest I think Lydia and Exene did pretty well. If I was being interviewed by that twat the interview would be over in two minutes and he'd be on the floor trying to pull the microphone out of his throat.

Also is it me or do both Lydia and Exene seem like angsty teenagers despite being in their 50s?

They both reminded me of some friends I had in high school. Those ones lost into their own sub culture, the really douchey close minded ones.

i'd still do her now

I didn't even watch the Nardwuar thing. Fuck him.
Perhaps she is a proportionally outrageous bitch for her size but Lydia Lunch =

If you care about how she deals with the press then watch this one:

I like Nardwuar. Sure, he'd be somewhat annoying to have in your face interviewing you, but as an observer I find him amusing. And he patently knows how much of a nuisance he is, but it doesn't deter him. Most artists in their right mind wouldn't take the guy seriously, and I've seen many fun interviews with him.

I don't think Lydia handles this poorly at all. She has her own persona and sticks to it, and there is nothing malicious about anything she says to him. She treats him with the contempt I'd expect from her, but I think everyone involved in that interview is well aware of the dynamic and there's nothing hostile at all.

As for her music, I've never been a fan of her solo - Teenage Jesus and 8 Eyed Spy are both great, however.

I guess a large part of my anger towards lydia it is I have a very very deep contempt for people who are not only elitist but who I think also can not back themselves up in a way I think make sense. I find I am also hyper sensitive to disliking people who I think artificially differentiate themselves from others to massive degrees and act as if they can live as an idealism to support their own ridiculous social arguments. I think her negativity is childish and her perception of herself is dishonest and I see inconsistencies all over her. It really seems like she would go so far as to deny the fact that she is a human to support something ridiculous she believes in and a lot of the time it seems as though that is exactly what she is doing.

I am really quite surprised to see that I am the minority on this one. Quite interesting actually.

I totally agree with you on this one, the Nardwuar interview is one thing - it's hard sometimes to keep your head when faced with jackassery , but the interview that engine posted makes it pretty clear that she's just a contrarian with no interest in having a conversation or looking at thing's from different perspectives. She just wants to **** all over anything that doesn't fit her narrow worldview.

Oh my, I finally watched the Nardwuar thing and I've got to say that I have more respect for both him and Miss Lunch. I honestly don't see what's upsetting anybody.

Lydia Lunch is a sweet, lovely lady and I think Nardwuar recognizes that. This interview was sort of a battle of wits and Nardwuar and Lydia are both having fun the entire time.

From the way haters are talking on this thread I expected her to sound much worse but she remains to be her intelligent, irreverent self much like she was as a kid 30 years ago.

If Nardwuar really wanted to call her out he could have asked her about the times that she has referred to her participation in hardcore porn/art films as feminist activism. But he didn't because he knew this would sacrafice his wacky, zany edge and the rapport they built would be lost.

Why so sensitive, people? This interview is above average entertainment. Just enjoy it. Lunch and Nard both obviously did.

i guess i'm a little confused.....this is Lydia Lunch.....had you all known about her stuff outside of music?.....she has been like this since the beginning...

i mean its one thing to say wow that chick is a fucking stupid ignorant bitch.....but to say that she is reacting in some weird way....i mean she has always been like that....like or dislike it that's just her schtick

i suggest getting a copy of the movie "the gun is loaded"......its 2 hours of her yelling at you.....quite good :)
