You'd like Nardwuar more if you saw his interview with Blur. Bunch of British twits.

Nardwuar is annoying, but that made me want to murder Dave Rowntree. What an absolute utter wanker.

He doesn't annoy me at all personally. Who else interviews Snoop Dogg wearing some silly hat and glasses whilst he's smoking a blunt?

I find I am also hyper sensitive to disliking people who I think artificially differentiate themselves from others to massive degrees and act as if they can live as an idealism to support their own ridiculous social arguments. I think her negativity is childish and her perception of herself is dishonest and I see inconsistencies all over her. It really seems like she would go so far as to deny the fact that she is a human to support something ridiculous she believes in and a lot of the time it seems as though that is exactly what she is doing.

I am really quite surprised to see that I am the minority on this one. Quite interesting actually.

Maybe you need to stop projecting your fantasies about how so and so would behave and instead learn about their individual personality. It's like Bob mentioned, that was classic Lydia Lunch. What were you expecting? Cuddling with Nardwuar on the couch, maybe reading a little poetry while softly talking about her hopes and dreams?

Fact is, a lot of musicians / artists / creative people are not nice or fun to be around, hell most of them are a-holes. Especially old school punks.

I am not disappointed or surprised at Lydia I am just appalled at people who have personalities like that and it just really irks me when combined with some one I have a lot of respect for. That is all I really wanted to say by this thread although I may have not worded it the best I could.

I actually like and respect her because of her appalling personality.
This is a case of different strokes for different folks, I guess.

This is definitely true. A large part of it is I understand the mentality really well and I perceive it to be a very empty and hollow. This is because I have been like that at one point and would like to think I understand it so maybe its a part self loathing thing I have too.

That's fair, but it's not fair to apply that loathing outward to others. It's great that you've gotten over it, but you can't force those who still adhere to it to change their ways just because you've moved on.

Sometimes it's just easier to separate the individual from their creations. You don't need to like the person to respect their work. Though the cult of personality permeating the entertainment industry doesn't really support that perspective.

I know but I can't help but have my perspective affected by my experience. Its just a part of me that may or may not go away but it is how I feel now and I think there is nothing wrong with that. It doesn't really affect my enjoyment of music I am pretty good a keeping stuff like that separate.
