I didn't read the article, or much of anything that's been said here.

But I like Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson is a professional ****ing pilot which is cool as ****, and I think punk sucks too.

Not all of it, but the music never jived with me. Also most of the people I've known who preferred it over other music genres really sucked as people. They got into the political views being expressed and glamorization of being a lawbreaking drug addict. Not sure which came first, the music or the personality, and dont care.

I'm just ****ing ecstatic all those people left my friends' circle long ago to either die or join some commune in Indiana. A few changed. Most died or joined communes, never to simultaneously bum cigarettes I bought and sneer at having a job in the same breath, again.

Straight up though, I tend not to like the vocals or waving sort of circular bouncy effect of the music. It's too hyper for me.

He's upset because he has to work harder, and actually put some thought and talent into his music. Plus, Bruce is just old and bitter.

I don't understand how he can say Punk musicians were laughing at 'the art establishment' when half of them came out of art schools in the first place.
Talent comes in many forms and what Punks lacked in technical prowess they made up for in passion, charisma, and invention.

And some didn't lack chops either. Particularly true of many of the drummers.

Very true, even today. Recently saw Radkey live and the bass player was a spectacle to watch.

Thank, its appreciated.

It was really the porn star comment that got me. With all the dumb ass comments coming from the likes of Bruce Dickinson, Dave Mustaine, and Ted Nugent, metal could really use a PR overhaul.

Many Punk bands say Metal sucks too. If you prefer Punk you will agree. If you prefer Metal you will disagree. If you are open minded and like both then you shouldn't really give a crap as there are terrible bands in both genres.
