Yep I knew the name of the album. I know a majority of the song names also, but doesn't that just make it more punk rock. Great album though.

love the early Dr Know but lost interest when they went full metal with This Island Earth and Wreckage in Flesh....although both of those albums really are pretty ok

love the fact that Cruz came back and that they tour non stop....i actually still need to check out that album they put out back in 2009

very underrated and seemingly unknown band from Berkeley in the early 90s 411....although anybody who watched skate videos from 90-92 or 3 has probably at least heard one song this is also the band that launched the carrier of drummer Mario Rubalcaba who went on to drum for Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes and now for OFF!

they only released one album called "This Isn't Me" which gets mixed reviews mainly due to the singers vocal approach.....very much like that of later Government Issue....but i dig Dan O'Mahony's vocals

Good stuff indeed. I really dig Government Issue but they are probably ranked where they should be. Hit or miss production causes alot of punk to fall by the wayside.

Just because an band doesn't have any variety doesn't mean they can't be good. I'll take a generic hardcore band over black flag in heartbeat, cause I don't want to listen to some crappy half-assed comedy hardcore song like TV Party. **** that ****.

Also I know they're not a punk band, but AC/DC has consistently put out great songs with the same song structure for decades. So it is possible to still be great and not have much variety.

Honestly Black Flag are the worst example you could use when talking about cookie-cutter hardcore bands. The early stuff sure, but it was original at the time. Once hardcore started getting stale and infiltrated by uberviolent neo-not-actually-nazi ****heads Black Flag and several other bands started branching out. Have you heard anything from their later discography? They have a few releases that might as well be avant-garde art rock.

Like WD said, Black Flag did a pretty wide variety of stuff. I wouldn't judge them by one song.

Bon Scott at least had some kind of variety. The Brian Johnson era however...Ugh, I listened to all their studio albums, but it was hard to do. It was the same exact thing over and over and over. It wasn't bad, but it was still extremely repetetive. That's why I prefer Bon Scott. Plus, in the Bon Scott era they still made blues rock songs.

Exactly. Black Flag's sound has always sounded different each era, which I really appreciate.

Kind of Folk-Punk but nonetheless Wingnut Dishwasher Union and Ramshackle Glory are awesome bands
