ya i agree with you but this topic is like beating a dead horse if you ask me. But ya my personal oppinion is the same. Too bad only a few of the bands from then are still playing, its just annoying to listen to the same songs so many times and konw theyre never gonna have a new cd or be able to see them live.

This topic is like beating a dead horse. That saying in the english language means taking a topic and talking about it over and over and over.... theres quite a few threads about punk back then compared to now.

Maybe if people would put away there records form 30 years ago and acctually listen to something new they might find something they like. Why is it that people think that complaining about "new punk" makes them so much more cool, or original then everyone else. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against the whole 77' thing but at the same time if those were the only bands I listewned to I would go nuts. At least do your self a favor and fast forward to the 80s. If you like 77 type punk check out the UK82 movement, or just modern 77 style punk like The Hunns, the briefs, blatz, and Icons of filth among tons more. **** people, its time to crawl out of your little punk cave and give the rest of the world a try. Theres more bands out there than you could listen to in a lifetime so why stick to listening to a small group of bands from 30 years ago.

I tottally understand what your saying I never said that I only listen to old stuff. I jsut happen to like the old stuff better but It doesnt cause me to look at any new punk and think wow this sux it wasnt made in the 70's or 80's.

Exactly, don't get me wrong. I like new punk too, and I don't think it makes me look "cool" (whatever "cool" is) to bitch and moan about new punk, but...I dunno. There's just something about that 77-85 punk era I like.

Sorry for beatin' that dead horse. heh heh.

Dont worry I understand what you guys are saying, I was just bitter. And I was afraid you were going to be the whole "The sex Pistols are the only tru punk band!" types. But yea, sorry to be so harsh, im grumpy.
