You know it’s the Canadian Subhumans not the UK Subhumans, right?

Early in their career they were terrifying live. Take it with a grain of salt if you want.

Frownland 10-06-2019 04:04 PM

elph hates the Butthole Surfers because they're from where he's from and the rules clearly state that you're not allowed to like anything from where you live.

Yes

The Batlord 10-06-2019 04:30 PM

Never heard any other song from them but that one so I checked out their debut album and was like damn this sucks but their 79 EP was way better like damn did you lose your guitarist or something.

They probably sold more albums to people like elph who think they’re the real Subhumans than to actual fans.

Frownland 10-06-2019 11:50 PM

Oh. Well then you're just missing out on some branches of noise rock.

elph you are pretty funny bro.

Frownland 10-07-2019 12:40 PM

However you feel about them, Filth is pretty much the heaviest album ever made.

Damn though this is one perfect punk song. I burned it on a mix CD back when I was in high school and just discovering punk and it's burned into my brain at this point. lol Almost twenty years ago so elph probably didn't even know what punk was.

OccultHawk 10-07-2019 11:48 PM

That’s cool

The Batlord 10-08-2019 06:26 AM

Great Balls Of Fire

You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain
Too much love drives a man insane
You broke my will, but what a thrill
Goodness gracious great balls of fire

I laughed at love when I thought it was funny
But you came along and you moved me honey
I've changed my mind, this love is fine
Goodness gracious great balls of fire

Green Day are faux-punk tho.

lol^

Anteater 10-15-2019 10:09 PM

Operation: Mindcrime is basically the greatest punk album of all time lyrically. And it isn't even a punk record.

Frownland 10-15-2019 10:24 PM

Green Day is one thing, but that's too much. I say that as a fan of that album.

The Batlord 10-16-2019 08:03 AM

How is a corny concept album in any way punk?

Marie Monday 10-16-2019 10:32 AM

Sleater-Kinney

Marie Monday 10-17-2019 12:54 AM

Cool, let me know what you think

OccultHawk 10-17-2019 03:17 AM

I really like Slow Song and Last Song

Marie Monday 10-17-2019 04:58 AM

Last Song is one of my favourites on that album. And I'm partial to How To Play Dead, it's funny to me in an absurd way

5. Sleater-Kinney - eponymous
4. Bratmobile - pottymouth
3.Bikini Kill - cd version of the first two records
2. Frumpies - frumpie one piece
1. Sleater-Kinney - call the doctor

I listened to all this except the Frumpies and my immediate reaction is that I personally like Bikini Kill much more than Bratmobile and S-K.

In fact, better late than never but Bikini Kill is a great punk band that I’ve been aware of from the get-go but never realized how high up on the punk rock mountain they stand. My bad.

Marie Monday 10-17-2019 01:04 PM

I respect that. That bikini kill album I mentioned means the world to me, it changed my life.
