They just have a perfect sound. Many bands have perfect songs, but the Ramones have a sound where even the less perfect songs still are perfect. They only sound less perfect because the Ramones have even more perfect songs to compare them to. They just figured out in like five minutes how to bottle excitement and fun into as few notes as possible. And then they played those notes 1000 times per song.

TBH for a while I didn't really like "Teenage Lobotomy" because I found Joey shouting "LOBOTOMY!!!" to be obnoxious and lame, and while it's still the lamest part of the song hearing it fifty million times over the past few months has overcome my childish prejudice cause literally everything else about the song is 11/10 even for the Ramones.

For all the Ramones dicksucking that's gone on in this thread over the past while I think we've all neglected to slob on "Havana Affair". The lyrics are some of their most gloriously dumb, fun, and inane; Joey's vocal rhythms are insanely great even for him; and I could listen to him say "banana" all day.
