Rancid

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that on Fuse they're going to be showing new and old videos by Rancid on that show called Loaded. Make sure you check it out. It's on tonight (7/14) @ 8:30!!

thederacinator 07-16-2004 10:19 PM

hey does anybody like rancid or the transplants?

Fenixpunk 06-29-2005 03:33 PM

they keep getting worst as time goes by. I like Op Ivy, some of rancid, and nothing ive heard from transplants are worth mentioning. All those guys need to call it quits before they seriously make fools of themselves.

EDGE 06-29-2005 03:37 PM

I like some of The Transplants' shit.

really you think so i like their earlier stuff i think the dead kennedys and the dropkick murphys are good two but if were talking british punk i like the sex pistols and the clash, do the talking heads count as punk? i also think that the ramones are awesome but im from boston area so i think the jonee earthquake band is pretty awesome

It doesnt get much worse than Indestructible. Or the Transplants for that matter.

I still listen to Let's Go and some off the two s/t albums.

sleepy jack 06-29-2005 04:12 PM

Ben from Good Charlotte is friends with Rancid, Casualties and the Unseen. In recent times, they're three of the most ****ty punk bands ever. Coincidence? You decide.

kinky cali 06-29-2005 07:21 PM

Old Rancid is awesome, i like thier tune . And the transplants.... well... ill end it there.

frenchmadden 06-30-2005 03:47 AM

Rancid rocks!! i discover this band recently but i love it!! the songs of the album: "Indestructible" are really awesome!!!! Dont know the songs of Transplants but that must be cool because there is Travis Barker from Blink 182 and he's a great drummer!!

im having a little trouble understanding what the **** this has to do with rancid or the transplants, but hey, its your thread.

All_Nite_Dinah 06-30-2005 10:27 AM

Its baisically been said already. Early rancid rocked and rancid#2 was an awsome album. Indestructable was blah. The transplants first cd is pretty catchy stuff with some cool tunes, but i heard there new one and I didnt like i much.

frenchmadden 07-03-2005 02:22 PM

i havent talking to you!!! i post where i want!!!!

sleepy jack 07-03-2005 04:01 PM

Indestrucable is a pop album.

anticipation 07-03-2005 08:10 PM

Indestructable is a crap album

FunkyFish 07-05-2005 12:26 PM

I really like rancid but not too sure about transplants new one

Loved the old Transplants album

partisan 07-06-2005 10:04 AM

Indestructable is in no way a pop album. Despite that I feel the album has more of a ska feel and sensealbilty about it rather to punk.
I agree that older rancid is better ie. self titled (1993).

hookers with machineguns 07-06-2005 11:50 AM

Indestructable...ska? Was that a joke?

On another note, Let's Go= great album.

sleepy jack 07-06-2005 11:54 AM

It has a drunken irishmen* in it I'm sure we could find a pun in there somewhere.

*i've no idea if any member of Rancid is actually Irish.

hookers with machineguns 07-06-2005 12:12 PM

We could find something.

partisan 07-06-2005 01:39 PM

I don't say it was ska, I said it had more of a ska feel to it rather than punk, which it does dumdass. Just listen to someone of the basslines in it.
At no point did I say indestructible was ska, read the post first. Misfitspunk you do know that you don't have to jumo on every bandwagon going, don't you?

hiu 07-06-2005 01:51 PM

Mike Watt>>>>>>>>>Matt Freemen

Rancid are an average pop punk band. '93 and Let's Go are more punkish and are my favourites. With each album Rancid's albums got worse, tim's voice continued to die, matt's basslines became less and less original and slower, Lar's got fat and who the hell is the drummer? That's right Brett Reed well his drumming is nothing at all special.

What the **** thats supposed to mean?

pastor of muppets 07-06-2005 01:58 PM

he thinks you a sheep

hiu 07-06-2005 02:01 PM

You are. You steal my threads.

uniquefreak_2008 07-06-2005 08:55 PM

i love rancid, but the Transplants aren't all that great. i think Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards are way better then the Transplants. Why aren't they more popular. I read a thing on the Transplants in revolver the other day and there trying to do rap and punk put together. I really don't like anything that's rap related but whatever!

Tam 07-07-2005 10:34 AM

Matt Freeman is quite frankly a god. :)

hiu 07-07-2005 01:54 PM

Matt Freeman is an average bassist, good at best. I don't see why people say he is so amazing, most of his bass lines are not actually that great apart from he can play them super fast.

All_Nite_Dinah 07-08-2005 03:15 PM

He writes really good original basslines and he plays them super fast. I think that would baisically explain why people think hes such a good bassist.

Motorhead 07-10-2005 02:10 PM

I agree with whoever said Rancid is getting worse at time passes.
They were in their prime in 94 and indestructible is pretty much crap. Too much blatant political nonsense.

Rancid

my friend let me borrow their early self titled album (not the apparently crap recent one, he let me borrow the one with the gun on the cover) and '..and out come the wolves'. and i really like this band, theyre really cool. ive been getting into a lot of bands that came out the 90s and these guys are definately one of my favourites.

Post!

Kevorkian Logic 12-14-2007 07:05 AM

mmm to ...and out come the wolves. Don't give that cd back to him.

timefornothing 01-05-2008 03:22 PM

Don't be greedy now! Burn yourself a copy and then give it back to him. It is a fantastic album.
And what about Tim Armstrong's solo album?

silversun 01-06-2008 08:29 PM

Nothing beats their older stuff.

I'm not too fond of the side projects and what not.
