if greendays withdrawl was the reason lookout went bankrupt then they (lookout) did some serious screwups with their accounting. think about it. for every album greenday sold on lookout, the band gets a small percentage of that, the record company gets a bigger percentage. there should be no reason a label shouldnt have more funds than a band they are producing. If lookout ends up going belly up over this then i say good, before they end up screwing other bands on their label that dont have the opportunity to shop around in the majors like greenday does. An alternative to greenday saying "give me our money, the money you owe us, the money we deserve" they could of said "give me your label". then everyone would be bitching and complaining how greenday tookover lookout. Lookout screwed them, and probably many other bands on their label due to shoddy money management.

im not defending their music, ive never been a fan of greenday and ive never spent a penny on any of their music (unless you count the 1.00 in pennies we threw at them at the fair, which we snuck in to) Im just defending their decision to not allow lookout to continue to lose the royalties they deserve.

In recent years, previous Lookout! artists Screeching Weasel, Avail, Pansy Division, the Riverdales, the Lillingtons and Enemy You have rescinded their master rights from the label, citing, like Green Day, breach of contract over unpaid royalties.
- unlike greenday, these other bands arent rolling in the money, and lookout still screwed them.

Quote:
Green Day has not filed any legal action against Lookout! to recoup the delinquent royalty payments, she said.
- doesnt sound greedy to me, or else they would of already sued the pants off of lookout (like DK did to jello and alt. tent), they just want their masters, which is more than reasonable because lookout is selling it, but not paying the artist....LAME.
