The simple fact is that bands leave record labels all the time and for much more superficial reasons then why Greenday did. The fact that Greenday stayed with Lookout for over 10 years after they had reached a level of success that surely had major labels beating a path to their door actually boosts my opinion of them. Don't get so disillusioned to be believe that this is anything less than an intelligent business decision, and one that any one of you would make given the same set of circumstances. It could have easily been said ten years ago after Dookie was released and received the acclaim that it did that Greenday owed its success to their record company, but I think at this point, ten years later, the truth is that Lookout owes its current success to Greenday, and the loss of its best selling artist to their own poor business decisions.
