Casualties, Rancid, Total Chaos and the majority of the "street punk" bands have lost alot of their credibility in the scene, its just a fact even if they do have some good songs. most punks see these guys as jokes or post card punks as we like to call them. Dont get me wrong, I like alot of street punk bands older albums, hell i own albums by each of the bands Ive listed and still give them a spin every now and then. I was a street punk when i was a teenager and it was a fun experiance, and i remember when it became obvious that bands like these were only feeding the stereotype of punks as nothing more than a bunch of rowdy drunks with funny hair. I like more substance in my punk. Its like comparing Sex Pistols to Crass, on one hand you have these guys that fit the punk look, and on the other hand you have the punks that want nothing to do with the look and instead focus on the matters at hand. What side do you think Casualties fall under? I think its pretty obvious.

the sex pistols were kinda like the "spice girls" of the punk rock world. They were created by Malcolm McClaren (their manager) to be marketed (successfully) by getting them gigs where he knew there was going to be controversy and media, when they brought in Sid Vicious to play bass he was only a fan and didnt know how to play but had the image, reputation and heroin habit to add more controversy (therefore getting more media exposure).. Both The Clash and The Damned were playing at this time and were the first punks in my opinion that focused on music rather than the style of clothes that was growing in popularity. Alot of Crass songs mention how the Sex Pistols were given the punk rock title because of the way they looked and how quickly they became popular, and I just happend to agree with them. Not trying to bust your bubble or nothing, just pointing out the similarities between the pistols and bands like the casualties.

ok...ok...but you gotta admit, they at least LIVED it! Rotten and Vicious and Cook, and the other one(forgot his name...Jones is it?) lived the life, on the streets of London, and with rough up-bringings. The Casualties man, American "street" punks, with the money to afford that much hair gel?
they have to live it before they can speak it to me,

and I read somewhere that Johnny used to rub dirt on Nancy's needles...just thought I would tell you....ya know, for $hits and giggles....

Do you have any knolledge(sp?) of how the casualties were raised? How they grew up? I dont think you do so think and learn before you open your mouth. Also the casualties have money now so they can afford that much hair gel.I doubt you know anything about how they were raised but i you do then sorry for getting on your case cause i dont.
