Eh i thought they matured a lot on ATliens. My problem with outkast is that they're music is always quite original and groundbreaking at the time, with one of the few good primarily rock sampled rap albums Stankonia, and then a getting really flamboyent and singy-songey on Love Below, however it never holds up.
Once they lose their novelty you realize the actual music isn't quite as above and beyond other mainstream hip hop artists as the reviews would have believe. **** im not able to structure my sentences well at all right now |

come on dude, i know im guilty of it too, but like include some kind-off reason or like point to the post.
Like that post takes away the whole point of the site. |
yeah yeah , I was a bit haste with my reply that I didn't elaborate.
I meant music-wise they have grown ever since Stankonia imo. |
I love Speakerboxx/The Love Below, but mostly for the second half, so i'll go with Stankonia.

From Stankonia to Idlewild to Speakerboxx/The Love Below. The music/production on all three of those are top notch.
I wouldn't even say they got better it's just that they changed up a bit from the heavy funk direction they started out borrowing from. |
I was torn momentarily between ATLiens and Aquemini but Aquemini has too many stand-out classics on the album and the beats/production are sublime.

Aquemini is by far their best album. It was like the sun, the moon and stars lined up perfectly for that album. Beat wise it's incredible, 3000 and Big destroyed it lyrically...you can't lose with that album!

Stankonia for me as well......
|
Aquemini for me.
