I agree, I've tried to get into their other stuff and its just not working for me

Old thread but what the hell! 3ft High And Rising was probably the album that turned me onto hip hop when it came out. They never reached the same heights again sadly.

Doesn't matter if they don't have the same popularity as they did back in the day. They are still making great albums. The Grind Date was a very good cd, I believe it came out about 2 years ago. Stakes is High is one of my favorite hip hop cds and is definitely overlooked. De La Soul is under appreciated and any self respecting hip hop fan should listen to their albums.

I was'nt talking about popularity, that does'nt interest me in the slightest. DLS Is Dead has barely two good tracks on it. What I have heard from STAKES IS HIGH was'nt that great either, but I love to be proved wrong so I will delve deeper and listen to their latest. On your head be it! ;)

I would recommend Stakes is High over their latest but I really enjoyed both. Buhloone is very overlooked but its sound is not for everyone.

Bringing this back to life just to comment on how amazing 3 Feet High and Rising is. What a cleverly disgused rap album.
