I actually don't get the whole "2pac was a poet" thing. I mean, compared to Biggie sure he's deeper. But it seems like people act like he's the ends all of poetic hip hop.

Dont compare those two

^ You're an idiot if you think Biggie and 2pac are not comparable.
And yeah, it's stupid when people argue that 2pac is the best because he "was a poet," or "his songs had real meaning behind them," or he "put real emotion and messages in his works." Yeah, because 2pac was sentient, no one else's art matters, and no one else has ever thought of writing raps with a message. Dumbass 2pac fans. :( |
I think Nas and Tupac are the main 2 thug-poets out there. Pac had some deeper, more sentimental songs, love his diversity.
I've always liked Biggie more though... Seems I always end up preferring east coast over west coast. But Biggie just had amazing flow and that bulky voice that just boomed. Pac and Biggie are really the only two guys that come to mind when I think of thug party songs... I can only imagine what the music world would be had they lived longer. Pac can be kinda hit or miss with me sometimes, I'm not always feelin his flow. But I like pretty much every Biggie song. His wordplay and flow are just on another level. |
No comparison 2 Pac lyrics are hard core and then Heart warming. Biggie is all about the xes n money.
