Default talib kweli

man this guy has got to be up there with the greatest rappers ever to have lived. his work in blackstar was great with mos def, his solo albums are ALL quality, unlike his partner mos def, and he is just all around enjoyable. seeing him this thursday, pretty excited. i reccomend his first solo album 'Quality', its my personal favorite. it is one of those albums that you can listen to from start to finish. no filler at all. great album.

check out his myspace for some samples of his music but i really would reccomend listening to 'get by' or 'gun music' or 'put it in the air' to get a real feel for his music.

I love his Blackstar work with Mos Def. He's really one of the original Hip Hoppers...real awesome music. He has such sick flow, thats really unique. Sick Guy.

man, i'm glad you posted. the rap forum on this site seems to go unnoticed. i had to go through like 3 of the new post pages to find a single thread from this forum.

but yeah, blackstar is a great album. i guess i should have reccomended some of the songs off of that, it would be crazy to overlook oit. respiration is probably my favorite song off the album, but to be honest they're all good. definition. REefinition, thieves in the night. you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not download/buy/steal from the store the Blackstar album. classic.

Talib rules....live too! He was awesome opening for the Beastie Boys a few years ago. I'd love to see him headline.

The collab he did with Madlib was so gnar. Dood is one of the best technical rappers of today, right up there with Mos and Del for me.

I have seen the name pop up a few times in forums and stores etc, but have yet to have the pleasure. Any ups out there?
