Kanye murders 50 on subject matter alone, he came out in the gangsta rapper blinged out era and took his own lane, and do is constantly striving to be original, while 50 tryna take us back, showin us the hood, gettin gully, shyt nigga you been oput the streets almost a decade, your musik should change as well. You seen shyt most of these dudes in the hood dont even kno exist school them on that and give cats something to hope for or move towards

kanye. hands down.
he's much more lyrical, and has a better style
where as 50, has some lyricism in him, but he mainly just makes club bangers

so really, it just depends on what you're into.

I'd say Kanye, cuz the only 50 tracks I like are I Get Money and In Da Club.

Kanye is possibly the greatest Rapper / Producer to ever do it

easily the best of our time

50 on the other hand is responsible for making one of the greatest Gangster Rap albums of our time - a mean feat and something that only ever gets done well every 5-10 years

50 should not be marked down, he is talented but stale right now

this to me is a no brainer

Kanye all the way.

while 50 will go down in history with NWA, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mobb Deep & The Diplomats etc

Kanye will go down in history with Stevie Wonder and dem. in short, i dont think he's even started yet, and 50s almost finished.

I dont know how someone makes 150 mil last year and is almost finished. But whatev.

Anyway I gotta go with 50. For those of you that say he lacks creativity I submit exhibit A) a Baltimore Love Thing. If you havent heard this song then you shouldnt even be in this thread and your opinion is moot.

Listening to a 50 Cent album is like watching 300 (again if you havent seen this movie then you suck ass). Whereas listening to a Kanye album is like going to see Rush Hour. One is supposed to be brolic as **** and the other is supposed to be light.

The comparison of the two is really stupid.

I know they did their competition thing which truly was a gimmick (duh). Roc A Fella and G-Unit get along very very well.

However for us to be discussing who is better a hardcore gangster rapper or a pop rapper, is stupid.

He is still a gangster rapper. Being famous doesnt make one pop contrary to popular belief. If thats the case then Biggie, Nas, Tupac, and Jay Z are all pop too. Are you willing to stick your neck out that far?

If one song on the album is really radio friendly while the other 12 have to be super edited just to be played, you arent a pop rapper. ( I Get Money and I'll Still Kill, oh yeah those are the epitome of pop)

Whereas Kanye on the other hand is as pop as gets this side of the ATL dance stuff.

Yep. If it is popular it is by definition pop.
