In terms of who's a better rapper, spitting the best flow, however you'd like to phrase it, I couldn't say.
In terms of the whole package (rapping, writing, beats), it's gotta go to Kanye. Take 50's voice out of it, and his songs could be just about any hip-hopper's songs. Kanye's tunes, however, are distinctively his, both in production and writing/lyrical stylings. p.s. Big fan of the Louis Vutton Don's first two albums (and mixtapes between), but think "Graduation" is a pretty lackluster entry. |
they announced wednesday on trl who sold more records in a week
kanye sold close to a million & 50 sold just about 700,000 so...yeah, kind of speaks for itself there i think |
Even money says 50 pusses out and doesn't retire, like he said he would if Kanye outsold him.

I'm bored so I guess I'll comment on these two sub-par artists.....
Kanye West is better as far as beats/production goes and the music that he samples. The lyrics that he writes are terrible imo. He either just throws something in just to make it rhyme while screwing up how it sounds grammatically or he'll just throw in some nothingness if he can't come up with something to rhyme.....I believe he did that in a song called drive slow but not sure if that's the one. 50 cent is a better lyricist but I don't like the fact that he needs to make love songs/female songs. He increases the amount of women type songs per album. The beats that he uses all sound too familiar like I've heard them before...especially that track he has with eminem. I swear he uses an old em beat for that track. I really enjoyed graduation but it seems short and I missed his skits. 50's definitely not retiring. It was an excellent marketing ploy. I wouldn't be surprised if 50 and kanye got together to tour with each other. |
But unfortunately someone who doesn't enjoy rap has no leg to stand on when making an opinion about it.

real
When kanye spits, it's not just about a life where he came from, it's where he's at and where he's gonna go. He's one of the most realest dudes out mainstream right now. It's hip hop, not straight gangsta. Fifty's givin a good effort, but it aint what the people is lookin for right now.:usehead:

I guess they're the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac of the 2000 generation. Personally, I can think of better rappers lyrically and commercially.
|
Who's more commercially succesful this decade? Just curious...
