I dislike Sage for the same reason I dislike Atmosphere which is I don't care for introspective hip hop. I either want it to be about weed or the police (and the act of sticking it to them.) I called Atmosphere the Nickelback of hip hop because (for the most part) he sounds like a combination between hip hop and boring soft rock. I mean when I first heard Guarantees I nearly gagged.

I wasn't as happy with this album was I was with other ones like "God Loves Ugly" or "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" but I am excited to go see him and P.O.S. live in a few weeks.

It took me quite a while to get this too. For me I think its his total lack of pretense. He's really just some middle age single parent of a teen-age son who makes hip-hop records and he knows it. I still think Sage Francis blows.

Fair enough, but you have to at least keep in mind... out of 6 full length albums, and countless EP's (Sad Clown Bad __'s) they have done approximately one song like 'Guarantees', exactly one. I don't think it's fair to judge their catalog off of one track that deviates from their normal style. Sounds like their normal style just isn't your cup of tea anyway, but fyi 'Guarantees' wouldn't even crack their top 50 in my opinion...

This album is middle of the pack or below average for them, maybe on par with YCIHMFWH, but still quality stuff.

My brother got it the other day and it was an alright album. I dig Your Glass House, it's got a nice mellow sound.

Definitely one of the better raps albums of 2008. Caught them in concert on their fall tour and they were great also. Id kill to see them with P.O.S. though, Atmosphere wishes they could put out an album like Never Better.
