The Carter 1 is the only Lil Wayne album I could tolerate.

Exactly.
The only way to say all his albums sound the same is if you've only heard the last 2 Carters.

Lil' Wayne has kept a pretty distinct style throughout his career; I see little difference from his beginning to now.
