Lame White People Who Listen To Hip Hop Real Loud In Their Cars

I am a lame white person who listens to hip hop real loud in his car. Anybody feel as self-conscious about this as I do, though? Like, I was just driving through this small town with my windows open and music pumping and anyway I let this family cross in front of me. They didn't give me a courteous wave or anything and, in fact, all they did was just kinda stare at me. It took me like a full five seconds for me to realize I had Lupe Fiasco blasting out of my subwoofers

THE COOLEST NIGGA, WHAT?! THE COOLEST NIGGA, WHAT?! LORD PLEASE HAVE SYMPATHY AND FORGIVE MY COOL YOUNG HISTORY AS THE COOLEST NIGGA...

Then I drove away in abject shame. What's the solution to this, can I never listen to hip hop in public by the light of day? How do other lame white people deal with this kind of delicate situation?

Psychotherapy?

When I get a car, all it's gonna be is Hip Hop bumpin out. I ain't gonna be ashamed. Probably because I'm lame by choice.

Arya Stark 06-27-2009 08:58 PM

Either don't be ashamed or stop blasting rap.

There's no in between, if you like the music.

Antonio 06-27-2009 08:59 PM

you're only lame if you think you are.

Anthony 06-27-2009 09:00 PM

Oh, I'm lame

LoathsomePete 06-27-2009 09:01 PM

I was blasting "Benzie Box" by Danger Doom in the car with all the windows rolled down (except my drivers window as the rotary motor is dead) and I didn`t feel the slightest bit of shame or embarrassment. If you`re embarrassed by the music you listen to and feel self conscious about it out in public then maybe it`s not the type of music for you.

on a side note: our usernames are pretty similar, so that may lead to people mistaking you for me and vice versa. just so you know.

Arya Stark 06-27-2009 09:03 PM

Antonio's right.

Except I knew he wasn't white.

And he types without proper capitalization.

Janszoon 06-27-2009 09:05 PM

People who blast their music in their cars to absurd levels are lame no matter what race they are or what music they're listening to.

And people who constantly fiddle with the sound throughout the song are the worst.

I think Antonio is right, in sake of fairness I believe Antonio and Anthony should joust, who`s with meÉ

Anthony 06-27-2009 09:12 PM

What kind of name is Antonio, anyway?

Heh. True. And people who crank up the bass on songs that aren't very bass-centric are pretty bad too. My old neighbor, for example, had a nice system in his truck and used to always pump up the bass on the grunge music he listened to. It sounded ridiculous.

Oh noes. This is me. I love listening to my music nice and loud in my car. I sing at the top of my lungs and people look at me strange when I'm stopped at traffic lights. But I don't care!

I do too, but only when I'm on the highway or something, not in a residential area. It drives me nuts when there's someone outside my apartment with their system up so loud that I can't hear the TV or the music I'm listening to or the person on the other end of my phone.

Yeah I can understand that, that would suck a lot. I only ever pump mine when I'm actually driving.

Damn boy, my condolences. Fevers always get me fucked UP.

Antonio 06-27-2009 09:49 PM

haha i know rite?

djchameleon 06-29-2009 01:16 AM

I've always wanted to roll through a ghetto area blasting classical music I'm not sure why but I just want to do it.

Majority of the people blasting music are trying to show off their systems and they are screwing up their speakers in the process or they already have horrible speakers and it just ends up sounded bloody awful.

Haha yeah my speakers in my Jeep are on the verge of death because I blast music too loudly on it. The reason I blast music is because the rotary motor on my drivers window is broken and it's taped up so I get this hissing noise when I drive which gets irritating very quickly.

crash_override 06-29-2009 11:33 AM

I'm totally cool with blasting music, well at least listening to a song loudly. I don't own amp & subs anymore, I grew out of that **** when I was 20. But I do understand people want to listen to their music loud, sometimes I do too, but what is this obsession with having your windows rolled down while doing so? Can't you listen to yourself? I mean, it IS your music. I just don't understand why you think everyone else wants to hear your crap. Face it, in 2009, 90 percent of the time people are blasting their music out their windows its going to be gangster rap (with auto tuned vocals). I don't like this music, I do not want to hear it. It is out-right obnoxious, it's a law that should be much more widely enforced.

Please, just roll your windows up. It's the new millenium and we have A/C now. Please use it, puls, your music sounds better with the windows up. That's how the speakers are set to operate.

Thank you for suffering this rant.

LoathsomePete 06-29-2009 11:52 AM

A rant well worth the "suffering" because all of what you say is true.

Freebase Dali 06-29-2009 02:16 PM

Honestly, I can't see the justification in buying and installing car audio equipment that's so loud everyone in the neighborhood can hear it, and all you get is damaged hearing.
I have a self-amped 10 inch sub, some excellent quality 6x9's and some 6.5's in the front, and a great sounding head unit.
The reasoning behind it is that INSIDE my car, it sounds great. I didn't buy a stereo system for the benefit of pedestrians.

That said, I'm not embarrassed by anything I'm playing in the car. It could be porn soundtracks... it's not like anyone else is going to hear it.

This.

I can't stand it when people blast it to the point where my car is shaking or if I am walking, the ground is shaking. YOU ARE NOT COOL.

Not everyone is trying to be "cool" when blasting music, though..

Get over yourself.

lucifer_sam 06-30-2009 03:21 PM

the overwhelming majority are. it's more a matter of personal courtesy than what volume level you like listening to music at. if you really enjoy the sound of ears bleeding do it with your windows up, or better yet, while you're at home.

Piss Me Off 06-30-2009 03:37 PM

A lot of my friends are guilty of woofer abuse in their cars, now i'm not exactly the most considerate when it comes to my music's volume (in my room) but with their loudness it's definitely about being cool.

simplephysics 06-30-2009 03:53 PM

Sometimes I don't even realize how loud I'm playing music in the car, especially when I'm just cruising around at night. Then I get in my car the next morning to drive to work/school and consequently blasted out of my skin. I'm too poor to afford subs anyways.

....word. Especially if your bumper's made out of plastic. Especially at my work where they leave the stereo on in the parking lot when they go in to grab milk. Sometimes it's so loud I have to yell at customers for them to make out what I'm saying.....douche bags.

jackhammer 06-30-2009 04:45 PM

Don't drive. It's easier. You can then pollute your own ears with as much crap as you like on your MP3 player and also block out the twat with his windows down.
