Why do they have to be white?
|
Because I want it to be more specific then just rappers in general and I've been into white rappers lately. Nothing against black rappers, it's just I can find a lot that I like a lot easier.
|
That sounds borderline racist. Haha.
|
I know, I just wanted to make it more specific :(
Fine, I'll take any rap recommendations. |
I'd have to say P.O.S.
One of my favorites. |
P.O.S. is actually my favorite rapper. Great suggestion though.
|
White rappers? Um... do you know Spose? No, REAL Spose when he's being serious, not the "I'm Awesome" guy you probably know.

Brother Ali is actually a white albino, so I guess he counts here |
I just got Sage Francis' first album and it sounds really good. Thanks for the rec!
|
No problem, also try Cubbiebear. You can also try b dolan but im personaly not a fan of his
|
I have been really digging this. The video is amazing, love the 8-bit sounds and the tempo shifts. If anyone has this album please let me know - I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere! |
Can anyone please explain
Hey guys I recently got into hiphop/rap and ya i've heard a few things about west vs east coast and just wanted to know more about the history of rap. Yes I did read the sticky ,but I'd really like to know more and what kind of music you guys (Smart) would recommend i already have the Gza liquidsword album (loving it) and the Enter the 36 Chambers but not much else besides MMlp
|
Check Aesop Rock, KRS-One, and if you want some more modern tracks I'm diggin' Atmosphere, Lupe, and Tech N9ne lately.
As for as the whole East vs. West, as far as I know, it was more a 90's thing and the beefs between rappers aren't as serious any longer, at least not as far as geographically. |
Ah, Ic oh and sry forgot metion I already have a few aesop rock albums Ex-Labor Day. but im curious wat is KRS-One
|
KRS-ONE is a Hip-Hop pioneer and part of Boogie Down Productions, their album Criminal Minded is a classic.
If you like Wu-Tang, check out Only Built for Cuban Links by Raekwon the Chef. |

Thanks guys
And what do you mean by two o-o? |

Look up "The Grouch". Any rapper on rhymesayers, particularly Brother Ali or Atmosphere. Needless to say Wu-Tang Clan are nothing to **** with.
|
So, there's several songs that are actually good.
"Ballad of the Black Gold" by Reflection Eternal. "She Was" by Bei Maejor. "Shutterbugg" by Big Boi. "Life's A Bitch" by Wale ft Talib Kweli & Joell Ortiz. "Higher" by J Cole. "The Ode To New York" by The Illz (he's sick). "Put It Down" by Bun B ft Drake. "The Freestyle" by Wale. (Most underrated rapper ATM) "We Run NY" by French Montana ft Fat Joe. "I'm Gone" by Fat Joe (premo beat... I know, most dont like Joe but this song is great). Everyone, tell me what you think of each. |
A song I'm really into right now is book of daniel by MF Grimm i love it haha XD
|
yeah he roasts Doom pretty hard on that
|
Ceelo Greens new al-blum

|

|
Well 2010 has fallen flat for me so far. I've gotten really out of touch with music recently, and haven't found anything new that really strikes my fancy. The Roots album turned out to be sort of a dud. Didn't really fall in love with B.o.B. Never got around to listening to new Reflection Eternal.
I'm looking for your favorite album, or maybe some tracks, from 2010. Period. I'm also hoping this John Legend & The Roots collaboration album is good. |
I really can't think of my favorite album of the year but J. Cole - A Nigga From the Ville and The Cool Kids - Tacklebox were two really good mixtapes

XV - Vizzy Zone (Deluxe Edition) - Listen and Download Edit: Also, almost forgot that the new Atmosphere is pretty nice, as well. |
Deltron 3030's new album is finally suppose to drop this year, then again it's been suppose to since like 06' lol, hopefully it lives up to what I'm expecting when it finally gets released. I know it will. Del's got such amazing flow. Anyway, keep your eye out for that one.
Also, if you've never heard the first one check it out, Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030. Its not the normal lyrical content you'd expect for rap. Its actually a concept type album set in the future year, 3030. |
immortal technique!.. ud love em
|
Try these:
Shad Art of Fresh Flobots Aesop Rock Asher Roth (I know I know.. He's changed) Ohh and a good up and coming rapper is JAYMAN. |

When your in the clubbin' mood, or a party mood, listen to I like the way she do it by 50 Cent w/ G Unit. That sh*t's Legit
|
Also, if you've never listened to Boots Riley/The Coup, shame on you.
|
Not really clear on who I'm recommending this to but this is great.

The interesting part is that after a couple songs I had written them off as sort of a novelty rap act that I expected to turn off soon and probably never listen to again. But by then I was enraptured - couldn't/can't stop listening. Thanks! |
